Technics RS1500US 2T 4T With original NAB adaptors

Purchased on Audigon on 4/13 from Tapephile. Here is his original write up:

"This Reel To Reel unit came from a studio which lightly used it for transfers. Heads are in excellent shape. All functions 100%. Records well and the result is indistinguishable from the source. 2 Track Playback and Record and 4 Track Playback. Cosmetics are very good with only a few light scratches in the upper rear of the unit. All silk screening is intact. Unit has been serviced in 2011. Priced reasonably for its shape and performance."

Note that since I have owned the unit one of the VU meter lights has burned out. A replacement can be easily sourced from J-corder. I have put perhaps 40 hours of playback time on the unit, and it sounds and performs great. The unit was rack mounted in the studio so it has no side wood panels. These, too, can be sourced from J-corder if that is important to you. The Technics 1500s were one of the best built units of their day, and consequently they are one of the most popular units for conversion to modern day state of the art units sold by United Home Audio ($9K - $24K) and J-corder, and they are recommended by the Tape Project.

Included in the purchase are a pair of the original NAB adapters, a large generic take up reel and a new 7" red Darklab take up reel. Inquire about the availability of several recordings made with new RMGI tape and high resolution digital masters. Amazing sound. I also have some original label tape recordings of Led Zeppelin, Carole King, Beatles, The Who and Bette Midler.

Local pick up is preferred as the unit is heavy and will be expensive to ship. Auditions by appointment possible Buyer pays for double box shipping materials and postage if not picked up locally.
