TEAC Z 7000 ***SOLD***

This is it. If you are looking for one of the best cassette decks ever made, this is your once in a lifetime chance. I have this absolutely mint condition TEAC Z 7000 for sale. I swear not to sell it but I have too many decks here and I'm just retiring from the hobby after so many years. This unit never played 15 full C-90 cassettes in its history! I'm not kidding. It was bought, used it for 3 months and then stored. I was lucky enough to find such a gem and send it directly to the former TEAC Service Manager in New Jersey for a overhaul. Any unit like this, after 30 years, needs service no matter if it was in use or inactive. He told me that "it seems that this machine was never played!". This is a time capsule, folks. Russ changed the ALPS controls, which are the Achilles tendon of this series, but we couldn't find the pitch control sub,so, we simply jumped it. If you are lucky enough and find it I recommend you to install it. All TEAC "Z" series owners has learned to live with this issue.

Recording and playback is simply amazing. This machine has features that you wouldn't find on any other deck. The auto-cal of the tape is amazing and with dbx encoded tape, high mol and hi extend selected it would be almost impossible to distinguish it from a CD! 92 dB of S/NR !!!

Anyway, this is a big and heavy monster. The shipping would be over $100.00 easily double boxed and insured. It comes with original manual, schematics, hell!: it even includes the never filled warranty card! Original carton, like new, and all packaging materials. A damaged unit like this was sold for $1,800 a year ago at EBAY. This one is completely mint and in constant use now at my system. See the photos and judge for yourself. You wouldn't simply find another one in this condition and with all the future possibly problematic parts changed for you already! I paid over $250.00 for this service a month ago!

Things like this doesn't come cheap. I'm asking $1,695.00 for it + shipping. I'm not in hurry to sell it and if I have to keep it,then, so be it! BUT, if you are the lucky one who wants it, then this is it! I was one of the few who used to have the whole series. The Z 6000 is already gone as well as the Z 5000. Still have this Z 7000. Machine is sold "AS IS" due to its age and complexity but I'm sure you'll enjoy it for many years to come. Unfortunately, we are dealing with 30+ years old units here and anything could happen.
