Nakamichi RX-303 Highly upgraded and works great!

No one wanted a killer deal so now it is back to the price I should have put it up for in the first place. I did not put it at 400.00 because it was not worth more, I did it to help. Audio sells can be the hardest things to do. Most people do not want anything unless it is highly priced so they can brag about paying so much for their unit and then you have the other side who does not know a thing about audio workings and wants everything for nothing. I know this but still I try - maybe one day I will learn.

This is a very good sounding Nakamichi tape deck that has had all the electrolytic caps and some film caps upgraded. I use the word upgraded because even if new the caps I use are usually much better than the new ones used when making this player. I use Nichicon Muse, Elna, Blackgate, Panasonic FC and only top film caps too! This makes a HUGE difference in the sound making the music smoother and have more dynamics and bass usually. It will also lower the noise floor especially when most of the caps are dried out. A few say they cannot hear the difference online but I think they do not like hearing that upgrading 68 caps on this one and others cost money. Sadly many do not want to pay what it costs to upgrade and bring these pieces back to better than new life causing many good techs to find other work. They say it does not need to be upgraded and that is like saying there is no need to change the oil in your car. I wonder how many on here set or have their bias and dc offset at least once a year? That is why we have lost so many wonderful old pieces and will soon start loosing more of the newer ones. It is not hard to test and set on most amps so please take time to learn how and save your piece of history. Yes, they can be fixed but that can cost a good bit when all it takes it a little time. Anyway, back to this unit. The belt has been changed and I have upgraded the output wire to new better gold rca’s. As far as the face is concerned it looks very good and might have some very small scratches have not seen any but it needs a cleaning which will take some time with all those buttons and controls. The top does have some scratches but nothing that is terrible and it can be removed and painted or even better taken and have it powder coated by the new owner. The man I used moved, sorry. The head rotates nicely and again the sound is very good. To me with a good cassette and a good record a recording can sound better than a CD. Yes, it is not as easy than all the new ways but I love to hear that wonderful smooth, full sound that only comes from analog recordings. You can still buy good new cassettes, so no worries.

One person help me see a big scratch on the transport cover that I did not see and for that I am sorry. Since, then I have removed it with some great plastic scratch remover called NOVUS. The scratch is completely gone now and when I get my new camera card that I ordered I will put up the picture. I use an older camera to keep the size of the picture down.
