I am selling one Source Technologies HVS-10 High Velocity Subwoofer designed and built by John Sollecito. John Sollecito was the co-designer of JSE Infinite Slope Speakers, which now has become Joseph Audio. These speakers rarely come up for sale used. Source Technologies has been making audiophile speakers for over 20 years and John Sollecito has been making audiophile speakers in Connecticut for almost 30 years.

I own three of these subwoofers: two subs are 1.5 years old (they are seen with the monitors) and one sub is 1 year old (it has close-up pictures). The ad is for the sale of ONE subwoofer, the one with the close-up pictures. The subwoofer comes with its original power cord. You might be able to talk me into selling two subwoofers as a pair.

These are the only subwoofers that I would ever use for music, and that includes the Fathom f212 from JL Audio, the DB1 from B&W, and the SW-12 from Aerial Acoustics. The Source Technologies HVS-10 is faster, tighter, and more musical (less dark sounding) than any subwoofer I have ever heard. Each subwoofer uses a custom-built 10” Aluminum woofer and has a 400W Class A/B amplifier, not a cheap class-D amp, which is why it doesn’t sound dark. Each subwoofer has an adjustable crossover, a volume control, line-level inputs and outputs (RCA), and speaker-level inputs and outputs via 5-way binding posts. You can also flip the phase 180 degrees. Each subwoofer rests on four large 1.5” spikes (included).

The subwoofer is finished in real black oak on the top, front, and sides. It is finished in high-gloss black on the back and on the bottom. The fit and finish is amazing!

If you can get to Bloomsburg, PA, I invite you to audition these subwoofers, you will be amazed! They really don’t sound like subwoofers. (You could put them in a corner and adjust them to sound like subwoofers with boomy bass, if that’s what you’re into for your home theater.)

I am only selling the subwoofer (and my monitors in another Audiogon Ad) because Source Technologies is coming out with a reference pair of floor-standing speakers that will retail for $20,000.

The subwoofer is 1 year old and in MINT condition. There is not one scratch or dent on it. I rate it a 9/10 on Audiogon’s conservative rating scale because it has been used. The subwoofer currently retails for $1695. I am the original owner.

The subwoofer comes with the original power cord. I have the original box and packaging for the subwoofer. Shipping via UPS Ground (with insurance and signature for delivery) is $137.10 in the continental U.S. PayPal adds 3.5%. No shipping if you pick up the subwoofer in Bloomsburg, PA. If you live in Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, or Rhode Island, I may be able to deliver the subwoofer and save you 50% to 80% off the cost of shipping.
