This rack is brand new, American made (by
me) and uses the same materials as my isolation blocks and platforms.

The shelves are 1" thick, American made ApplePly
birch plywood (17 ply and void free) with a 1/4" layer of charcoal black vinyl
cork on either side for a total shelf thickness of 1-½”.

Each shelf weighs in at 23-1/2 lbs. as do the 4
maple uprights combined for a total rack weight of 117.5 lbs. unpackaged. That
is a lot of vibration killing mass!

The shelves make for an attractive, durable, non
skid, slightly absorbing and self healing surface. The uprights are 2 ½” x 2 ½”
maple solids with a clear polyurethane finish and come with nice, heavy duty
carpet piercing spikes.

Assembly is accomplished with mechanical joints using
2-3/4” long 14/20 furniture bolts into 1” threaded inserts embedded in the side
of the shelves. The rack can be assembled with either side of the
shelves up.

This rack does an excellent job of isolating
your components and preventing vibrations from reaching them and is rock solid.
To that end I would like to say a few words
about my combination of materials vs. some other available shelf materials.

First off, there are lots of good guys
selling quality racks and platforms here made from all types of materials and
it is not my intention to belittle their products (unlike another rack seller
here that starts all his ads by disparaging other sellers racks). I am sure they
produce a good quality product or they wouldn't be here, and I wish them all
much success and happiness (with the possible exception of the afore mentioned
seller, although I am sure he makes a good rack as well).

That being said, I want to give you my opinions
on a few things vibrational FWIW.

I have been a professional furniture maker (and
audio-fool) for 35 years now and I have learned a few things about wood (as well
as glass, stone and metal) and their properties in that time. The bottom line is
that solid wood rings regardless of it's thickness or if it's butcher block.
Thicker is certainly better as is harder (like maple or ash) and butcher block
is probably the best due to its multiple edge laminations. But lay a wood
platform on edge, hit it with an axe and it's going to split like a piece of
firewood along the grain. Vibrations will run through the grain in much the same
way (which is of course why wood is used to make musical instruments). Lay one
of my shelves on edge and hit it with an axe and you'll just put a dent or gouge
in it. This is due to the fact that with each of the 17 laminations in the
plywood the grain changes its direction / orientation so vibrations (or an
axe) can’t pass through it with any continuity. Adding the soft, dense outer
constraining layers pretty much seals the deal as far as vibration killing
goes.

I could make my racks a lot cheaper out of John
Boos butcher block or solid wood but they just wouldn't work as well.

Not much to say about glass and stone
(regardless of the thickness) but this: Put your hand of one side and hit the
other side with a hammer, if it doesn’t shatter the vibrations are going to pass
pretty much directly through it into your hand and it’s is going to hurt like
hell, kind of like hitting a metal pole with a baseball bat. These materials
are hard and brittle although they do have nice mass and look very pretty. I
have worked with them for years as integral parts of the furniture that I build
and always have to be very careful when handling them so  that they don’t snap under

their own weight (I make big commercial furniture so I am talking about large
pieces here). I’ll attach a couple pix of my furniture work here showing the use
of all three of these materials in my finished products so you know I am not
just blowing smoke.

Again, these are just my opinions and
observations based on my 35 years of experience working with said materials so
take them for what you will. I mention it mainly as a background as to why I
choose to make my vibration control products the way I do.

The rack ships unassembled (in three packages),
assembly takes about 15 minutes and requires one Allen wrench which is included.

Overall dimensions with the spikes installed are
31-1/2”” wide x 22” deep x 37-1/2” high and the unpackaged rack weighs just less
than 120 lbs. as previously mentioned. The shelves measure 28” wide x 22” deep
with 26-1/2” between the uprights in the front and 14-1/2” between the uprights
at the sides. The first shelf starts 3” off the floor and there is 9-1/2” clear
between the shelves.

Custom sizes, spacing, cork colors and wood
species available on request. I also have this same rack available in
red and will be listing that one in the next day or so.

My price is all inclusive and incudes UPS Ground
shipping in the lower 48 and PayPal fees.

I am always happy to answer questions form
serious buyers.

Some Feedback from previous customers:

Outstanding seller in every way, we are very fortunate to
have him here on Audiogon. Thank you so much for the customized isolation blocks
they are exceptional.

Madelgr10:

Mike is an excellent seller. The platform was
professionally packaged, arrived timely and was in perfect condition, as
advertised. I have purchased several items from Mike, including custom platforms
and each time Mike has exceeded my expectations. He is an excellent communicator
and is driven to make the buyer very happy. A+++++ transaction and buying
experience. THANKS MIKE!!

Txlef:

Excellent product! Finely crafted, affordable and
effective. Only have them under my multichannel amp so far, but my center
channel is noticeably cleaner. Eliminates some of the "ringing" for which
Salamander racks are infamous. Monoblocks next, where I don't anticipate as
dramatic an improvement because they rest on some terrific Codia amp stands.
Great seller, a real credit to Audiogon.

Letitbe1306:

Perfect transaction with Mike. He was very
supportive in providing a custom order. Fast shipment, well packed, and an
excellent product at a very fair price. The highest
recommendation.

Superb sounding platform that looks great and
outperforms units costing ten times the price. I will definitely buy more
platforms from Mike in the future. Mike is a first class gentleman to deal
