Wyred 4 Sound ST-250 Class D Power Amp

See John Potis’ review (of big brother ST500) on Positive Feedback online (issue 39). I concur with his description of the sonic characteristics of the W4S digital amps: “All the detail was there and the soundstage was cavernous. But the ST 500's sweetness ensured that high percussion, strings and brass had no glassy overlay; there was never any sense of unnatural glare and no artificial spotlighting on any section of the orchestra. Nothing harsh and no edge, either.”

Although suspicious of reviews written in the negative (“no this, no that”) and not as free with hyperbole (“cavernous”), I do believe the soundstage is impressive, but more importantly (for me, as an analytic listener) the amp is neutral and very transparent (to be redundant, for emphasis).
