FOR SALE: One used Threshold Stasis 2 Stereo Power Amplifier.

If any solid state amp ever deserved to be in the Hi-Fi Hall of Fame, it would be this one.

The STASIS 2 is an extremely high-current amplifier, rated at 200 Watts per channel into 8-Ohms. Expect about double that into 4-Ohms.

There are so many output transistors sharing the load that each one has very little work to do, and is never stressed.

HIGH CURRENT: Most of today’s loudspeakers dip down to WAY below 8-Ohms.

Most better B&W speakers rated for 8-Ohms go down to the 3.3-Ohm range at certain bass frequencies.

That’s fine IF AND ONLY IF THE AMP HAS THE EXTRA CURRENT AVAILABLE to handle these low impedances.

This amp does!

This amp has a richness to the bass, smoothness to the highs, and sense of “ease” and “liquid sound” to the midrange that makes most other amps sound “thin”.

VISUAL CONDITION: Good. There are some marks on the face and body, but I would say it is in average shape for its age, visually.

ELECTRICAL CONDITION: I have run it now for a day and it sounds great, works well, and I have no doubt that it will work beautifully for you.

This amp is on consignment, which means that we cannot take any responsibility at all if it suffers a failure.

It has just come back from our trusted local repair shop, who tested the amp for us (and your piece of mind), and they see no issues.

That is an important step to take, since, in that 1-in-a-million chance it dies tomorrow, we cannot take it back.

We want you to know all the facts.

PACKING: No problem! Although we do not have the original box (and if we did it would likely be too old to use) we do have a packing expert on staff.

The amp will be secured into a box and then that box will be in other box. The amp will be packed so that pressure is NOT put on the rear connectors. Have no fear!
