TacT 2.2X upgraded by TacT Audio to 2.2XP, with all D>A and A>D options to make this a full service, very transparent stereo preamp for all your digital and analog components, with separate subwoofer output for a true 2.1/2.2 system if you choose. It has the famous TacT room correction, and I have all the computer connections, the microphone, etc, but you can do room correction on the fly because it has the XP upgrade. I am the 3rd owner and it has been used lightly. It has no scratches and looks great. Check out the pictures. Paypal fees included in cost. --------- The 2.2XP has gotten some stellar reviews: StereoTimes 2006 Most Wanted Components, Editor's Choice and Publisher's Choice Awards. http://www.stereotimes.com/mw2006.shtml StereoTimes (October 2007) Hall of Fame 2007 Award: Tact RCS 2.2 XP The Absolute Sound 2007 Golden Ear Award Some Excerpts From the Review: “The Tact 2.2 XP is one of the few high-end products on the market that can fundamentally change your listening experience as well as solve most listening room and speaker problems.” “Tact is, of course, not the only firm to succeed at digital room correction. Meridian and Lexicon have also done so, although only in dealing with the lower frequencies. But the Tact 2.2 XP is the only unit I’ve tested that works at all frequencies, and in my opinion, it does a notably better job of this, even in the bass, than the Meridian and Lexicon. It provides a much large and more precise level of correction, and it really does provide the ability to reproduce accurate timbre at the listening position and prevent bass time-smear.” “The Tact 2.2 XP isn’t just an outstanding piece of high-end equipment; it is one hell of a lot of fun! Highly recommended, and in many listening rooms, essential. TAS” --------- Description From TacT's Website: http://www.tactlab.com/Products/RCS22XP/description.html The RCS 2.2 XP upgrade entails a new motherboard, DSP engine, and MIC card. It is designed to accommodate Dynamic Room Correction (DRC), Automatic Room Correction, and on-the-fly response capabilities. The RCS 2.2 XP has four times the processing power of the famous Tact RCS 2.0 and even better AD and DA conversion. This now combined with new features and a more user-friendly interface takes Tact’s room correction to new heights. The RCS 2.2 XP has no noise and extremely low distortion, yielding amazingly transparent accurate sound. Every effort has been made to make this preamplifier the best that money can buy. Add to this the latest evolution of Tact’s room correction technology and the result is absolutely staggering. Room Correction. Tact room correction technology has been praised by the press all around the world. Comments like “Wholesale improvement in sound quality” have become a standard phrase for reviewers describing the results that can be achieved with Tact’s room correction. Now we have taken room correction technology even further, not only in terms of processing power, but also in terms of the measurement and correction systems. The measurement is now done with a triple pulse for each acquisition. This increases the measurement resolution in both the time and frequency domains. Correction resolution is now four times higher than found in the original RCS 2.0. Dynamic Room Correction. With the introduction of Dynamic Room Correction, this latest version of the Tact-2.2 has pushed Room Correction technology to yet another level. Tact DRC systems are the only ones in the world to address the issue that sound perception is both frequency and level dependent. By taking into account your natural hearing characteristics and by adjusting for them dynamically with every 0.1 dB change in level, DRC technology literally connects your brain to your music, giving you the closest possible approximation of live music in your home. Automatic Room Correction. Tact-2.2 XP can now perform room correction automatically from the 2.2 XP front panel user interface, without the need for PC software. Users are able to make on-the-fly adjustments directly from the front panel, with absolutely no interruption to listening. Separate Subwoofer Control. The 2.2 XP is equipped to generate separate outputs for 1 or 2 subwoofers. The room correction system generates very precise crossovers based on separate measurements of the main speakers and subwoofers. The filters will add up both in the time domain and in the frequency domain. Levels will automatically be adjusted and the appropriate delay to correct for speaker displacement will be imposed. Follow Tact’s advice regarding placement of subwoofers and you will experience a new level of dynamic accuracy and coherence. If you do not use the separate subwoofer outputs, then all of the processing power of the 2.2 XP will be used for the main channels. Modular Design. The internal layout of the RCS 2.2 XP is completely modular. All of the expensive components such as DSP’s, D/A and A/D converters are a plug-in type and are placed on a motherboard. This allows for easy and inexpensive future upgrades. Even the rear-panel, including the sockets, can be exchanged to accommodate future interfaces. True Upgradeability. The front-panel and DSP’s are 100% software driven, and improvements or new features can be loaded through the RS232 port with firmware upgrades. It is our policy to offer software upgrades at no cost, and we therefore encourage you to fill out and submit the enclosed registration card by fax or e mail ([email protected]).
