Moon Audio is one of our favorite brands, and their integrated amps are particularly good values.

The company really stands behind their products.

When new, this amp came with a 10 year warranty, and Sim Audio has authorized us to to transfer that to the new owner, which means that they will be covered until March 19th 2023!!!!!!!

This MOON 340i is used, and I can’t find a single blemish on it.

The former owner just moved, and can’t find the remote control, so we just ordered a brand new one from MOON, so it will come with a new remote, a power cord, and a copy of the manual.

Moon recently updated their styling of this series, and this is one of the older versions with the “flat face” front panel that matches other brands nicely.

The newer version of this amp is priced at $4700, so you can see what a value this one is at its price.

This one does NOT have any options in it, so there is no phono preamp inside.

Moon says...

All are available at any time. P (Phono), X (balanced inputs) and D2 and D3 (DAC options). They must be installed by a MOON Dealer, not by the individual. We can also do the installation here at the factory. A DAC addition will also require a firmware update via the amplifiers rear-panel RS232 port which, again, can be done by a dealer in the field.

As it stands now, it has lots of inputs, including a handy front panel 1/8-inch jack for an MP3 player.

The preamp section is very clean and quiet. On the rear panel are preamp output jacks.

These can be used in the future if you desire more power and want to add a large power amplifier, using this piece as a preamp. The preamp section is good enough so that connecting it to a $4000 amp would certainly not be out of place.

Even better, you could, in the future, BI-AMP, using an external amp for the BASS and the internal amp for the HIGHS.

Since the power amplifier in this amplifier is CLASS-A UP TO 5 WATTS OUTPUT, that makes a lot of sense. The upper frequency tonal character of this MOON is smooth and open, even at very low volumes…the trademark of CLASS-A amplifiers.

Power on the amplifier is 100 Watts per channel, but current delivery is very high, so the output doubles to 200 Watts per channel into 4-Ohms.

This is made possible in part by the extensive use of aluminum in the chassis to draw heat away from the transistors, so they run cool for long life without needing huge heatsinks, which mean a bulky chassis.

The headphone amplifier section has been given particular attention, with a full-bodied sound and ample output.

Inside, this amp is typically MOON, which is to say not just neat, but almost a work of art, as amplifiers go. It looks like it could sell for twice the asking price.

There is very little exposed wiring, and the board layout is as neat as can be.

Moon often likes to show off the internal construction of their products. Compared with much of the “designed here and made in China” competition, there is simply no comparison, construction-wise.

The noise level is 110dB down, and the volume is controlled continuously, not in steps, making this a good choice to use with even sensitive speakers that reveal any noise.

MOON amps come with a transferrable warranty, and the amp is under 3 years old, so there is a healthy amount of warranty left on it.

The piece measures about 17 x 3.5 x 15 inches deep (including the volume knob and the speaker connectors).

The retail price on this model was $4000.00.
