Well cared for McIntosh C28 Preamplifier in EXCELLENT CONDITION! Conservatively rated 8/10 due to age. Sale includes C28 unit, Cabinet, Original Owners Manual, Copy of Service Manual! Unit was serviced and caps replaced. original caps have been saved and are inside unit in order to maintain unit integrity if wanted. SEE PICTURE. C28 has new Faceplate and pots were cleaned. This work was done by an AUTHORIZED MCINTOSH DEALER about 18 months ago, but I do not have the receipt. It was hooked up to a MC 2105 and Rega speakers, Soto TT. Tuner and CD player and this SETUP WITH THIS C28 SOUNDED FANATASTIC. THIS Unit is very clean inside and out. its been in cabinet most it’s life and it shows! All lights lights working. Knobs and back connects are very clean. Lettering is fine. Preamp sounds nice and looks nice. Overall this unit and very very good condition! cabinet has some marks on it but it looks very good too! Cleanest C28 I’ve seen. Came from a true audiophile who cared for this unit. NO BUBBLES!!! NO scratchiness or static when any knob is turned. NO scratches, dings. Buyer should be VERY PLEASED! Take a look at the pictures and see for yourself. Shipping is high because I don’t have the box so I will have it professionally packed. about $85. Will have it packed and shipped by Fed Ex or UPS. There's no mess of a job there. in fact I was told the one of the most respected McIntosh Repair guys in the business did it. Also, having taken weapon spec soldering training in the past, I can tell you the workmanship is top notch. So please don't throw stones when you don't have adequate information. As for the caps being RTVd to the new ones, as I mentioned it was done to show that they were replaced and keep the old ones with it at the request of original owner, who I got it from. thanks |
