This is a Linn Akurate 4200 Power Amplifier in black finish and features their latest power supply – the Dynamik. It is in truly excellent condition electronically and cosmetically. The Akurate 4200 is a current Linn model and retails for $7600. Electronically and sonically the Akurate 4200 functions flawlessly. This is a four channel power amp that delivers 111 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 200 watts per channel into 4 ohms! But these are Linn watts and it will actually drive almost any speaker louder than most amplifiers with much higher power ratings. Having four channels allows bi-amping a speaker or driving four channels of a home theater system from the one unit or it can be used in conjunction with additional Linn amps for Aktiv speakers. The 4200 is a very musical amp and has the current to drive the vast majority of speakers to quite high levels. In addition, this Akurate 4200 has had all the internal cabling and the torques of the fasteners fine-tuned by a highly regarded technician with extensive experience with Linn products. This tuning procedure made substantial improvements in the musicality of the unit.
Cosmetically it is excellent with no flaws that I could see in the finish. Please see the photos.
This 4200 is a single owner unit – I am selling it for the original owner. It comes with the original Linn power cord and owner’s manual and will be shipped in the original Linn shipping carton. | I have the traditional spade endings to my high quality speaker cables. How would I connect to this amp without an adaptor? Hello, Thanks for your interest in the Akurate 4200 power amplifier. All Linn Akurate amps have five way binding posts for speaker connection which can accept most spade connectors so you should need no adaptors. Thanks, Tom |
