UNIT IS IN MINT CONDITION, AND WORKS FLAWLESSLY
One owner, from a pet, smoke, child free home, bought from an authorized Boulder dealer
GREAT DAC BUILT IN, THAT HANDLES ALL FILES UP TO24/196, AND A PHONO STAGE

1012 DAC Preamplifier:

“Then we switched over to the Boulder. Because we were at my place, Neil held
his tongue, Van Allen like-wise. The expression on my face—mouth agape, jaw
properly dropping—was more eloquent than anything I could say. ‘Well, Paul,’
said Neil at last, ‘I wasn’t going to say anything, but it certainly isn’t subtle, is it?’
No, it wasn’t.”
The challenge for Boulder’s engineering team was significant: create
three full-functioned, world-class products and fit them into a single, stylish
and compact enclosure. And do it all with the expected performance
and reliability that decades of Boulder owners have come to appreciate.
To that end, the 1012 DAC Preamplifier is a tremendous success story. The
1012’s sleek machined casework houses a programmable analog
preamplifier, a technologically advanced digital-to-analog converter and
a versatile high gain/low noise phono preamplifier, making it one of the
most capable and comprehensive audio products ever created. What
would ordinarily occupy three spaces in your system now takes only one.
Every option for convenience and flexibility is available. Each preamplifier
input can be named, starting volumes set, polarity determined or Theater
Mode selected. Boulder Link can control and communicate with every
Boulder amplifier connected to it, and any change in their status is
instantly indicated on the 1012’s display. The volume control deserves its
own praise: the 200 one-half dB steps and ladder resistor system come
straight from the 2010 Isolated Balanced Preamplifier, the world’s
reference for control preamps.
The 1012 is also on another level digitally. If you’ve ever wondered how
much power, finesse and intimacy are hidden in your favorite digital
recordings, now you’ll know. An incredibly powerful one-gigaflop DSP
engine reconstructs data using our 32-bit Eigenfilter algorithm and
comprehensive custom software runs Boulder’s Upandoversampling™
system to elevate incoming digital data streams to a minimum of 24-bits
and a blazing 705.6 kHz.
And the phono stage? It’s also an impressive feat of engineering. Using
four-layer circuit boards, surface mount technology, computer-aided
critical component placement and Boulder’s superior multi-stage design,
the 1012 is as simple to use and stunning to hear with your invaluable LPs
as it is with your CDs. Gain selection for either MM or MC cartridges is at
your fingertip with the simple flip of a switch. Your favorite vinyl will be
vastly more true to life than you’ve ever heard it.
Although these figures provide thorough proof of its technical capabilities,
the proof, as they say, is in the listening. The only thing more beautiful
than the sound of the 1012 is calling it your own. Pride of ownership has
never been this much fun to listen to.

Questions for the seller
Hi Mike, I am interested in both Boulder units you have on offer - the 1012 and the 1060. A couple questions if you don't mind: 1) what is the age of these components? When did you purchase them? 2) is there a transferable warranty on them? 3) would you consider $16K for both units? I live in the San Diego area so would likely pick these up directly vs. shipping. thanks in advance! - Mike Nappi [filtered]
Hi Mike I thought I should let you know, $18500 is the cash pick up price. Let me know if interested, Thanks, Mike
