Award Winning Krell Evolution 2250e Silver

Multi-award winning Krell Evolution 2250e amplifier in mint condition. This amp is silver and 18 months old. Included in this sale are the amp, rack mounts, power cable, owner’s manual and the original carton. The build quality is second to none with completely aluminum chassis as well as WBT binding posts and RCA connectors. It has XLR balanced connectors as well.

The Evolution 2250e is rated at 250 wpc into 8 ohms, 500 wpc into 4 ohms and will drive any speakers. It drives B&W 804 Diamonds (which dip to 3 ohms) with full dynamics and with plenty of power to spare. The reason for all the abundant, clean power is the 2400VA power supply which is the heart of any amplifier. Krell’s own Duo 300 has one 800VA transformer, the ML 532H has two 436VA transformers, and the Bryston 4BSST2 has two 800VA transformers. All are said to produce 300 wpc into 8 ohms but can’t double down into 4 ohms. They run out of steam. This amp NEVER runs out of stream! It has bested everything I’ve owned before it including the; Ayre V3 mk2, Bryston 4B-SST2, Gamut D200 mkIII, Krell S-150 mono blocks, Naim NAP200, Quad 909, PS Audio HCA-2, Bel Canto eVo2 GenII, and Bel Canto S300 power amps, as well as Krell KAV300i, Ayre AX-7e, Musical Fidelity Nuvista, LFD NCSE, LFD Mk4, Perreaux Eloquence 250i,Arcam FMJ A23, Arcam Apha 10, Naim Nait 5 and Resolution Audio Opus S30 integrate amps. I would describe its sound as a revelation. Highs are delivered with every last ounce of detail without being bright or etched. The midrange is dead neutral. The bass goes deep and is very taut. It images fantastically and does the pace, rhythm and timing thing too. It’s a real tow tapper! Its dead quiet thanks again to the 2400VA power supply. One listen and you’ll understand why Krell is known as one of the world’s best amplifier makers! There is no need for me to go on and on. Here is what the experts said:
