Please take note that the price of these previously listed speakers has essentially been lowered by $2250 (list price of the upgrade) as they now include the latest Sound Lab update which is the Toroid II transformers. This significant upgrade was introduced last week at T.H.E. Show in Las Vegas. This major improvement to sensitivity, dynamic range and upper bass response is impressive and was noted by many visitors to the Sound Lab room. Anyone buying SL electrostatic speakers today will want this upgrade, so I have chosen to include it. This makes these as new speakers equal to and competitive with brand new speakers, at less than 50% of the price of new. Free shipping anywhere in the continental U.S. (approximately $700) is included. Additionally, if you are located on the west coast, I will personally deliver and set them up.
Offered is a pair of Sound Lab Majestic 845PX electrostatic panels in pristine condition with the latest "PX" technology. These are dealer demos and have seen very light use. They are available with either the standard back plates, or the "hot rod" version for an additional $1500. Included in the price is shipping anywhere in the continental U.S. They can be seen and auditioned in Santa Rosa, California. I have just returned from T.H.E. SHOW in Las Vegas where Sound Labs showed M-1PX panels paired with Atmosphere amps. The sound was magnificent, and judged by many to be the best of show. These equal or exceed anything I heard.
Great electrostatics are known for their "magic." It comes from the incredible full range and quickness of a single, large, low mass source. True coherence results, without the problems of trying to combine multiple drivers. With these, the size of the radiating surface is 2793 square inches each! This excites all the air in the room, as in the concert hall, not just the sweet spot. For the music lover, they get you as close as possible to being there. Size matters!
To answer a frequently asked question: How big a room is necessary? Sound Lab speakers will work well in small rooms as long as they can fit. They can even touch the ceiling or be very close to the side walls without problems. Too small a panel in too large a room is more likely to be problematic. They do need about 3' between them and the wall behind. Being 94" tall, they will fit in a room with a standard 96" (8') ceiling height.
In the realm of "the best", Sound Labs are a bargain! At less than 50% of the MSRP, these are a steal. They are dealer demos and truly as new, and come with a warranty! Shipping within the continental U.S. included. If you are serious about owning speakers in this league, you should seriously consider coming to audition them.
