Sound Lab A-1

Ranked by many, as one of the greatest speakers ever made, Stereophile magazine rated these in "Class A" (best at any price) for years.

Both the cores and the backplates are fresh from a  trip to Sound Lab's offices in Gunnison, Utah. They underwent factory test analysis and tweaks and then passed all tests with flying colors. New black nylon fabrics installed at the factory. These have ZERO hours since return from the SL factory and are still wrapped in factory plastic sleeves and bubble-wrap. I auditioned them at SL factory after upgrades, and they sound great and are ready to play.

Panels are the ABS construction (not wood), 90 degree radius design, so they have a wider listening sweet-spot than wider-radius panels.

Back plates are the Ultimate model and also went to SL factory for full testing analysis and tweaking. Plates have toroid upgrades,  new bass transformer in one and new HVRC box in one. They then passed all performance characteristics with flying colors. ZERO hours on the plates since I auditioned them at SL factory after upgrades, They too sound great and are ready to play.

Pick up in Austin, TX is recommended (although not mandatory). The panels and back plates being offered comprise the complete sound reproduction portion of the A-1's, they can be used as is, without frames.

Reasonably priced used wood frames are available. Or have your own frames made locally to your desired specs. I have a couple leads on available frames I can help locate if interested.

Asking $8,995. or best offer. Considerably less than half the replacement cost...currently, the Sound Lab A-1PX price begins at $31,100.00 per pair and up.
