VTL Phono Stage TP-2

Offering a VTL TP-2 phono stage in very good condition. Used in a very clean listening environment; no smoking or pets. I purchased this unit new. It was used for about 4 years, then my turntable went down, so it went into storage while I transitioned to digital format. I decided to get back into vinyl and returned the VTL back into service. I have used it with an all tube VAC system as well as my current Pass Labs integrated. It has always performed flawlessly.

The unit is extremely quiet. I compared it to my recently acquired Herron VTPH-2 and it is very competitively "quiet'. Yes, musical as well.

The tube complement consists of :

2- 12 AX-7's NOS Amperex /Philips Holland
2- 12 AU-7's French Military Radio Technique

These tubes are extremely musical and provide a full spectrum of sound. They are about 3 years old. This unit is a tube rollers dream!

Loading options include 47k ohms, 250 ohms, and 50 ohms.
I have used it with high output moving coil and mm cartridges. I do not know what the spec is for low output moving coils, so I cannot offer an opinion as to suitability.

I also replaced the stock fuse with a Hi-Fi Tuning fuse .

I conservatively rate this as a "7" due to it's age. Please note that one (1) top plate mounting screw has become misaligned and will not tighten all the way down. A very minor issue, but just wanted to be thorough in my description.
