Sennheiser Orpheus HE90/HEV 90 set matching pair rare and original

On offer, you find one of the rare opportunities to acquire one of Sennheiser's legendary Orpheus electrostatic headphones sets, consisting of a matching pair of the HE90 headphones and HEV90 amplifier. This set was limited to 300 produced and sold in the 1990's. For most headphone aficionados including me this is still THE benchmark to compete against. The set on offer has a very high serial number 21X and was delivered new to its first owner in 1997. Both, HE90 and HEV90, have the same serial number, thereby constituting a very desirable/collectible matching pair! First owners original delivery note and the warranty documents confirm this. Technical condition is absolutely sound and fine. The HEV90 comes equipped with an Amplitrex selected matching quad of NOS Siemens/Halske ECL86 amp-valves and a pair of matched/selected NOS Telefunken ECC83 preamp-valves- probably the best match-up one can imagine. I had the set last checked up in 04/2013 at Sennheiser's laboratories in Wedemark, Germany, and, on that occasion, the HEV90 was also freshly calibrated to those tubes. Cosmetically, I would rate the set between 8.5-9/10. The HE90 is in excellent condition- earpads and leather were substituted by Sennheiser in 2008 and are in as new condition. The HEV90 presents itself in very good condition. The only two issues I could make out are: A small "blind" spot/accumulation of very fine scratches in the polished surface to the top right of the red status-led on the front- you can only make it out by looking at it from just the right angle and under very bright light- please compare the picture provided. You might find a few other fine scratches in the polished surfaces, probably resulting from using the wrong type of cloth to dust them off, but those are very minor/negligible. Scope of delivery for the set is the wooden box for the HE90, three "ignition" keys for the HEV90, original delivery note for the set, original warranty documents for both items, original manual and press reviews from that time. I do not have the original cardboard packaging for the two items, but had a Peli Case with foam compartment custom-fitted as transport case for the HEV90. The set is based in Germany close to Cologne. A collection in person at our place would definitely be advisable from my point of view.
