This is one of the best Multi-Channel Modular power amplifiers ever made. Absolutely beautiful sounding amplifier and in my opinion, one of the best I have ever heard in dedicated 2-channel or Multi-Channel, solid state or tube amplifiers. I have tried the state-of-the-art Krell Preamps, the flagship tube pre-amps from Rogue Audio (Athena) and some of the Hybrid Solid-state and Tube power amps (Rogue audio again) and in my opinion, this amplifier is truly one of the most beautiful sounding, powerful with authority and really one of the best you can buy in this price range. It is flawless in cosmetics and flawless in execution. Conservatively rated at 8/10. I have the original box, and it is a Dreadnaught III box. The box is very strong double boxed with plywood protection and heavy duty packaging that will give us a great deal of safety during shipping. Important for an amplifier this heavy and of this caliber. Based on my research one thing that made me buy this unit was the history. It is the "Original Theta Dreadnaught". It is not the Dreadnaught II that was available for a lot less price (almost $1K) at the time I bought this. The low-end bass, mid-range and control of the drivers is the best you can find. One interesting piece of information I got is that Theta hired the original owner and designer of Classe to voice this amp. I am not the Original owner, but I did all the background research before I bought the unit from someone who was obsessively clean in keeping it new in almost every aspect I can imagine. The front of the Dreadnaught is machined like a jewel, also an amazing piece of engineering a beautiful looking amplifier that will draw many compliments. Few things to note. Note that ATI after they bought Theta still support the Theta products. This Original Dreadnaught I casing/transformer can take the latest Dreadnaught modules, both stereo and mono. In case you want to expand beyond 5-channels, this is possible up to 10 channels. However, I would not replace the Original modules as they sound very very good.
Buy with confidence. Please see my feedback. Paypal preferred and please add paypal fee of 3%. I prefer UPS, but if you have strong preference for Fedex, I will try to accommodate. US buyers only. I can ship to mainland Only.
