Greetings - I have two (2) non working Lexicon LX7 amplifier modules (which are made by Crown, another Harman Kardon company). This amp uses a bus system, like a cards in a computer, with one amplifier module placed into each channel slot.

One of these modules gets very hot within seconds of turn-on and the fan speeds up to try to cool it. I shut down the amp and removed the module to make sure it didn't cause any damage to the rest of the amp or speakers. The other non-working module either has a red light (rather than blue) or no light at all. So I removed it as well, and am using the other 5 channels, which work perfectly, and are all I need in my current system.

I called Harmon/Lexicon and was told that this amp is no longer supported directly by Lexicon and that it must be sent to a third party repair company. When I contacted them, they wanted me to send the whole amp (80 lbs or so) to them. I don't want to deal with that.

So, does anyone on this board have the ability to repair these modules? If so, would you repair them both and send one back to me, with one as "payment" ? Or can you repair them without sending the whole amp? Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Questions for the seller
I suggest calling "The Service Bench" in MA. I had one of my Madrigal/Harman Proceed amps blow a module. The Proceed amps were no longer supported by Harman and my local dealer suggested I contact the Service Bench in MA. They deal with a lot of out of service Harman and Madrigal equipment. I suggest you contact them to see what they can do. Here's their info: [filtered]
Great! Thank you very much for the suggestion. It's so frustrating when an older piece of gear fails...
