LENEHAN Audio ML-1 Mint condition! The little speakers that could!

Up for sale (reluctantly, I may add) are my awesome Lenehan audio ML-1 monitors. These are Australian made beauties that have (over the years) developed quite a cult following. Please read the multiple rave reviews. I am the original owner and I bought them directly from Lenehan Audio in Australia a couple of years ago. These come from a clean, smoke/pet free home where they were kept in my dedicated audio listening room. Always driven with care at moderate volumes with high quality electronics. I am obsessive about taking the best possible care of my gear -- so these have always been handled with white cotton gloves and dusted with a microfiber cloth. Rest assured, they are in Mint condition. No fingerprints, smudges, scratches.
I want to say so much about these speakers that I am having a hard time where to start!

First the SONICS -- Frankly, the volume of sound coming from these little speakers will astound you. The tweeter is super smooth and silky. Voices sound great and the bass packs quite a punch that will surprise you. In my room the bass easily goes down to the high 30s. They have plenty of resolution/clarity but do not sound tiring even on prolonged listening. They are easy to drive and can be driven equally well with solid state or moderately powered tube amplification. One of the secrets to the exquisite sound is the crossover which uses the highest quality components (12awg aircored inductors, Utilising copper film and foil bypass capacitors. Dale Vishay non inductive wire wound 6.5 watt to 13 watt and Mundorf 10watt metal oxide depending on location in the circuit). Please look at the website for additional details. This is unheard of at this price point (or even multiples of). I have heard & owned several of the well regarded monitor speakers over the years and I believe these are fully competitive with anything up to the $5000 price point. They are an excellent match for small to medium sized rooms.

Now I want to talk about the BUILD QUALITY/CONSTRUCTION -- The jewel like build quality & level of finish has to be seen to be believed! The automotive coat on this is flawless and is at par with Wilson audio speakers. No issues with wife acceptance factor when it comes to these beauties. A unique feature is that the cabinets are made of HDF (High density fiberboard) as opposed to the MDF that is used to make the cabinets by the vast majority of other speaker brands. HDF is much more expensive than MDF and takes much more effort to mould into a cabinet. As a result this speaker achieves a high level of inertness--resonance is diminished to a minimum. For the size of the speakers, the weight will surprise you. Also, the grills are attached by magnets--so there are no unsightly holes in the front baffle.

The pride of ownership is enhanced by the fact that each speaker is a labor of love for the designer/builder of these speakers -- Mike Lenehan. The attention to detail carries over to the packaging as they are packed in their own individual flight boxes--this is unheard of at this price level. This makes for easy and safe shipment.

P.S. The price when new includes the cost of shipping to the US from Australia plus the cost of upgrading to flight cases (the speakers cost $2750 by themselves).

REASON FOR SALE: In the process of dismantling my second system (where I rotated these speakers with a couple of other monitors).

I can also deliver these speakers within the greater Seattle area. No international shipping on these speakers. Will only sell to the lower 48 states.
