The original M30 was the top 2/3 of the M40 which is Harbeth’s flag ship model and designed for small venue monitoring. All of the truly great loudspeakers produce a stunning 3 dimensional sound stage. All Harbeths have great imaging but the new M30.1 is a sound to behold. The tonal colors are as deep and rich as any speaker you are ever going to hear and the imaging that this box speaker produces will make most planar speakers hide in shame. As all Harbeths are this speaker is easy to drive with a very stable 6 ohm impedance and like all Harbeths it is designed to sound great at a moderate level. Many speaker need to be turned up so loud your ears have to shut down a little for them to sound good to you. The M30.1 is a world Class speaker at a very reasonable cost and when stacked up next to it’s sonic peers the 30.1 is a real steal.
