I have 2012 Mac Minis (the latest 2012 iteration - quad core 2.3 GHz Intel i7) that have been modified with our YFS internal power filter. A 120GB SSD has also been added for the OS X. RAM comes in at 16GB and there is a 1TB HDD for music storage. The OS X, Mavericks, will be freshly installed on the 120GB SSD. It's so easy and it sounds better than a CD player/ transport. Most DAC's and SPDIF converters do not require audio drivers under the Mac OS X. (M2Tech is the exception) Go ahead and jump into computer audio head first with the most user friendly machine out there that still gives you the versatility you want and the sound quality you deserve.

The Late 2012 i7 quad-core Mac Minis are the fastest Apple Minis on the planet at this time. Apple did a disservice to its customers by 'updating' to the latest 2014 iteration of the device. If 'updating' means soldering the RAM to the board, only having ONE SATA port on the motherboard, and making the motherboard not easily slide in and out of the chassis, then sure, it's been updated. Oh yeah, and the best update by Apple is the SLOWER L3 cache (half the speed as the old version) and slower processor. If this sounds like the update you've been waiting for, go ahead and buy a 2014 Mini from Apple and send it to us to modify. We now charge $750 to modify it (YFS internal power filter included) based on all of the factors above (vs. $650 for 2012 and older Minis).

We pair these 2012 Mac Minis with our YFS PS-12m power supplies (included in pricing above). We can add a custom USB cable to your purchase as well and you can save on package pricing. You will receive a YFS modified Mac Mini and a YFS linear power supply as well as the 30" umbilical that comes with the power supply to mate with the Mini. Add the playback software of your choice and we'll install it for you at no extra charge (you pay for the software).

We are the only custom manufacturer that will make your USB cable out of the conductors you specify and in the length you specify (add $350 to the price above for a 1 meter Split USB).
