Jazz piano great Monty Alexander formed a reggae-jazz fusion band featuring Jamaican musicians and released several albums including Yard Movement, Stir It Up, Monty Meets Sly and Robbie, among others. For his cultural contributions the artist was awarded the Order of Jamaica in 2000. Alexander's playing style is inspired by Nat Cole and Oscar Peterson. This hard-swinging mostly instrumental live tribute was recorded at Pittsburgh's Manchester Craftsmen's Guild where reggae legend Bob Marley performed.
