I am the original owner of these black Wilson 5.1 Watt Puppy speakers. They are in excellent sonic condition with no nicks, or cosmetic abuse. They have been maintained in a smoke-free, pet-free, dedicated listening room since new. NEW FOAM SURROUNDS have been installed by the Wilson dealer, here in Raleigh, NC. Everything was checked out by the Wilson dealer before the speakers were repacked by them in the original crates.
The sound of these classic Wilson Watt Puppies is big, bold, and dynamic; with a frequency range of 28-20kHz. Imaging is well defined in depth, width, and height. Detail is precise. The speakers will ship from the local Wilson dealer (Audio Advice) here in Raleigh, NC.
My 8/10 rating is based on the care that they have been given, the replacement of the foam surrounds by the dealer and his excellent inspection.
Quoting Wes Phillips from his 1996 Stereophile Review…”They are staggeringly fast. This is a dynamic speaker that’s as quick as any electrostat that I’ve heard.” Stereophile rated this as a Class A Recommended Component.
