Terrific pair of great sounding Von Schweikert VR4 SR Mk II speakers with original crates on a palette ready to ship. These speakers are hard to beat for anywhere near the asking price and sure to bring you years of musical listening pleasure. Original retail was $12,000 and you hardly ever see these come up for sale, this pair is in the most desirable finish they made - the red cherry wood finish. Serial numbers 0351 and 0352. Right out of the box, there was an instantly recognizable increase in transparency across the spectrum in a system that was already the most transparent I've ever had at home. There is simply a greater sense of ‘being there'. By the next day with more play time, the music was stunning.
This is a Real World loudspeaker that is capable of world-class performance in medium to moderately large rooms. It came as no surprise that the VR-4SR Mk2 was as good as it was. Not only is it as good, if not better than other American made loudspeakers at much higher prices, it trumps most everything in its league from abroad. In this upper echelon, the VR-4SR Mk2 loudspeakers have outstanding value. If you are on the verge of purchasing a new loudspeaker, this could easily be the one, which is to say it has my highest recommendation. If you can't find them locally, book a flight and go have a listen.

Listening to my favorite pieces was glorious with the Von Schweikert VR4 SR 2’s!
After several equipment permutations, I have concluded there is virtually nothing that can be done with reasonable equipment to make these speakers sound poor. Conversely, their capacity to improve the listening experience along with equipment upgrades seems virtually unlimited. For the average audiophile, this can be the dream speaker that is never outgrown.
I cannot dream of living without them, so they have become my reference speakers.
