Thiel Audio CS-2.4 full-range loudspeakers in Amberwood veneer -- nearly new!

 FOR SALE: a nearly new set of Thiel CS2.4 full-range loudspeakers in Thiel's gorgeous "amberwood" veneer upgrade. I am the original owner and have the boxes, manuals, and all shipping materials. I am selling because we are moving to a smaller house and I am going to have to switch to a sat/sub monitor system.

I bought these speakers new in September of 2012 from an authorized dealer. They are an easy 9/10 on the Audiogon scale -- I cannot find any flaws, cosmetic or functional. I would estimate they have about 1,000 hours on them in a smoke-free, pet free environment. They have never been pushed. I baby my equipment.

I find the most striking thing about the CS2.4 is their remarkable level of coherency. Their low-distortion, time-aligned design achieves near state of the art performance at a real-world price. I don't think there is much competition below $10K -- I certainly haven't heard anything I prefer overall. These are lively, musical, dynamic, full-frequency loudspeakers that throw a wide and deep soundstage, and image in such a way that instruments are easily located but retain their size. They are quite simply exceptional.

The Thiel CS2.4 is a great loudspeaker, one of the very best I've heard regardless of price. Its treble soars and its bass plummets, but all the while the CS2.4 sounds utterly neutral and musically communicative. This speaker looks gorgeous and has the earmarks of heirloom-quality craftsmanship. The CS2.4 will be at home in a tweaked-out dedicated listening room or in a finely decorated living room, and its moderate size means it won't take up much space in either.
