Precision 6.4 - Floor Standing Speaker

For full-scale music and movie reproduction with life-like dynamics, the
Precision 6.4 is the flagship floor-standing loudspeaker in the Precision range.
This grand design combines the detailed imaging and communication of the new 150
mm (6”) Precision Dual Concentric driver with the low frequency extension of the
matching 150 mm (6”) bass driver in a large volume cabinet for deeper bass
reproduction. The substantial cabinet is loaded with a pair of Auxiliary Bass
Radiators (ABRs), positioned above and below the active bass driver, to deliver
deeper and smoother LF response.

The 6.4 cabinet is significantly deeper than the compact Precision 6.2 while
the footprint and front profile remain compact and discreet. A larger Mass
Loading Cavity (MLC) is provided to best tune the larger cabinet design while
the larger plinth offers excellent stability and ground coupling. The front
facing ABR arrangement allows the cabinet to be positioned relatively close to
rear walls, making the Precision 6.4 ideal for both larger rooms and those
looking for a big scale sound in medium sized room.

The 44.1 litre Precision 6.4 boasts curved sides to reduce colouration and an
innovative plinth with top-adjust levelling. Its large mass loading cavity can
filled or part filled with mineral aggregate to tune bass response to your room.
Extensive bracing, the use of Tannoy’s Differential Materials Technology (DMT)
to best couple the drivers to the cabinets, and hand-made crossovers deliver a
full bodied sound with outstanding instrumental precision.

The sumptuous curves and immaculate finishing detail of the precision 6.4 is
complemented by the silver-colour drivers, smooth trim rings that conceal driver
mountings and subtle Tannoy branding. Around the back the luxury continues with
full wrap-around finish and a radial terminal panel featuring heavy duty gold
plated terminals. These offer single or bi-wiring flexibility and Tannoy’s
unique fifth grounding terminal to further improve micro detailing. Available in
high gloss or satin dark walnut and high gloss black, the Precision 6.4 delivers
the precision engineering and precision sound upon which the range was named.
