This OMICRON ECLIPSE 2.3 EVO stereo speaker system is in EXCELLENT condition.

Due to my hobby and profession, I've been exposed to the world's finest loudspeakers over the last 37 years. I have personally owned and/or listened to EVERY so-called state-of-the-art speaker that has been marketed in the U.S.: Avantgarde Trio’s, Infinity Servo Statics, Levinson’s HQD system, Sound Labs, Beveridge 2SW’s, Hill Plasmatronics, Martin Logan Statements, Vandersteen 7’s, Verity Lohengrin’s, Wilson X2’s . . . the list goes on and on. The Eclipse 2.3’s rank with the BEST speakers I’ve ever heard.

Cosmetically the Eclipse 2.3’s are in excellent condition, with some minor imperfections. They have had one owner.

The Eclipse is a 3-way speaker system. Special attention has been given to choosing and optimizing each driver as well as the radical design of their enclosures. Each of the drivers has a separate enclosure to eliminate cabinet interaction – they can be driven with a single amp (as I am) or biamped or triamped. These 3 enclosures’ only contact with each other is the ball bearings they rest on! Using this method, the 3 enclosures are decoupled from each other providing nearly complete isolation.

As you can see from the slope of their front baffles, the 3 drivers are physically in phase and their crossover uses 6 db phase correct slopes, too.

The Eclipse’s utilize an Air-Motion Transformer (invented by Oskar Heil) for their tweeters.

The AMT moves air in a semi-perpendicular motion using a folded sheet structured around a series of aluminum struts positioned in a high-intensity magnetic (neodymium) field.

The result is a dipole driver with an extraordinarily rapid response rate, enabled by the extremely low mass of the driver and the tiny distance of each “swing” compared to dynamic drivers. In this respect, the AMT shares characteristics with an electrostatic driver.

However, the AMT is far more efficient (hence its relatively small size) and has a much wider dispersion than an electrostatic driver making it the BEST choice for tweeter in an uncompromized design.

The AMT is coupled with a ceramic Accuton midrange that blends seamlessly and faithfully reproduces a gorgeous midrange.

The 8.5 inch Eton woofer is housed in a rhomboid shaped, rigidly braced, bass reflex enclosure.

The sound of the Eclipse is worth all the trouble and expense Omicron went to - you will hear the UNCOMPROMIZED performance of their sound! Voices are eerily ‘live’ sounding and instrument placement has pinpoint accuracy. The bass is very tight and very realistic.

The Eclipse 2.3 Evo’s originally sold for $18,000.

These Eclipse’s cannot be shipped – I don’t have the shipping cartons. They will need to be picked up and moved by their new owner.
