2 owner pair. Classic good looks. Fantastic sound in a small footprint. Get the best of both a monitor and full range in one package. Near full size Coltrane sound in a compact footprint and for a lot less money. I own the full size Coltrane's and can attest to this fact. Rated an 8 only due to 2 owner's only. Custom slip covers included.

| As a previous owner of Coltrane Altos, I can attest to how good these stand mounts are. I rate them above the Magico Q1's in every area except midrange body and textures, but preferred the Alto's overall. Extremely pure, fast sound.
The Alto's carbon/kevlar monocoque cabinet was an outstanding achievement back in 2004. To put that in perspective, today Magico talk up the S3's monocoque aluminium cabinet, yet only the statement $130k M Project speakers are offered with Carbon cabinets, and they are not made as monocoque which is extremely complex and expensive!
I recall asking Leif Olofsson how would describe the sound of the Alto's and he replied " The Alto's has the speed and resolution as an electrostatic loudspeaker and the dynamics of a dynamic loudspeaker. It sums it up quite well. The best of two worlds." Good luck for the sale!
David, thank you sharing your knowledge of these fine speakers. Their quality and craftsmanship are among the best in the business. I also feel they provide some of the best value of any speaker manufacturer. In addition to an outstanding carbon/kevlar monocoque cabinet, their driver and the crossover quality is well selected and top flight. I look forward to finding a good home for these rare beauties.
