OK, so here's the deal on the (new to my knowledge) apparently infamous KEF 104/2 woofer surround and dust cap issue. I'm not the original owner and because there was never any sound fidelity problem, I never looked inside the speaker's acoustic port to check out the woofers. I've now added two photos to the listing.

#10 Woofer showing the original "donut" dust cap in place. This is the way that the woofer should look with a butyl rubber "donut" dust cover in the center.

#11 Current woofer with "donut" dust cap missing. This is how the current woofer looks. It is missing the rubber "donut" dust cover.

My research shows that the dust cap does not affect the sound of the woofer at all. In fact the KEF Model 104-2 speakers being sold here sound fantastic with no hint of anything being out of place.

The other issue is the some of the woofers shipped had foam surrounds which cracked and disintegrated with age. The current woofer, as seen in the #11 photo, have butyl rubber surrounds and show no degradation.

There are "donut" replacement kits being sold in numerous places. A current listing on eBay (Item #390478386373) has everything you need to replace the missing dust cover.

The best "how to" guide on replacing the dust caps can be found at http://www.audiokarma.org/forums/showpost.php?p=1856412&postcount=3.

So, there you have it. These KEF Model 104-2 speakers being sold here sound great, but the woofers are missing the dust caps. Please bid accordingly.
