Shipping is via truck at buyer's expenses. In factory packing containers, each Everest measures 48 inches long x 27 inches wide x 53 inches high and weigh almost 400 lbs. Due to the substantial size and weight of the Everest's at 311 lbs out of the box, Audio Video Logic optionally offers door to door personal delivery and set up. We have extensive set up experience with the Everest's, having sold over a dozen pair in the last several years. Depending on your distance from Iowa, personal delivery may cost little more than shipping. We recommend the personal delivery option for the smoothest transaction from start to finish and best the best sound quality outcome in your room.

JBL has replaced the DD-66000 Everest with the DD-67000 Everest. Where the price is dramatically higher ($75,000 pair for the DD-67000 compared to $26,999 for the DD-66000), the actual changes to the DD-67000 are relatively minor. The cabinets and overall cosmetics remain identical other than carbon fiber trim replacing leather trim on the baffle board. New 15" woofers give an additional 5hz bass response extension. This necessitated a redesign of the crossover network to integrate with the mid-range driver and horn. The external 9 volt batteries the DD-66000 uses to bias it's crossover for lowest distortion have been replaced with an internal battery-less circuit. Both the beryllium mid-range compression driver/horn and the beryllium super tweeter compression driver/horn remain unchanged! We have heard the new DD-67000's, and while they are great, they are really just a re-voiced

DD-66000. The main difference heard on most recordings is a change in tonal balance between 100hz and 200hz where the DD-67000 has about 3db less output than the DD-66000. We think you will see that the law of diminishing returns has set in and the sweet spot is the DD-66000! Once the DD-66000's are gone, the replacement DD-67000 is nearly triple in price!
