Hyperion Sound Design, Inc. HPS-938

Listing is for a pair of Hyperion HPS-938 speakers. Probably my favorite speaker I have ever owned, but I have decided to go back to a monitor setup as I think it works better in my listening room. I know I will regret it, but you know the drill!!!! There are 3 or four VERY small chips in the piano black finish, but nothing major. Normal streak/scuff marks typical with piano black finishes. You have to be really close to see them. The threaded spike inserts to have a bit of "play" in them allowing the spikes to move around just a bit, but it has never been an issue for me. I am the second owner. They are probably closer to an 8/10 condition, but I tend to be conservative with my ratings so there are no surprises. The Stillpoints footers shown in the pictures are NOT included. Factory brass spikes will come with the speakers. Speaker grilles are included but not shown in the pictures.

These are very transparent speakers that will reveal your components for what they really are. Very neutral. There are a lot of reviews here and on the web that can tell the tale better than I can, but they are spot on and incredible sounding speakers. I used a BAT 55WPC tube amp with them with wonderful results. Please note that they are a tri-wire configuration. Mid and treble terminals on the upper cabinet, and separate terminals on the bass cabinet. A set of standard size jumpers and a longer 12" set is needed unless you run bi-wire or tri-wire cables. I had outstanding results with Anti-cable speaker cables. I will throw in a set of 12" Anticable jumpers for the longer set of jumpers if the buyer wants them. I really prefer a local sale for floor standing speakers. I prefer for the buyer to be able to inspect and listen if desired, and not worry about shipping damage. I have the original boxes and packaging, but they are not all that robust to be honest, and I am not sure I would trust them without double boxing them in another outer box.

I am willing to drive within a 2 hour radius to meet the buyer/deliver the speakers. If you are somewhat close to Chicago and are interested, I am sure we can work something out.
