Focal Alto Utopia Floorstanding speaker. Amazing sound quality. Numerous stellar reviews on this speaker. Condition is not 100% unfortunately, maids cleaning house over the years has taken its toll. Minor nicks on the enamel part of the cabinet but woodwork is in really good shape. Local pickup is preferred since shipping a speaker of this physical size and weight can be prohibitively expensive. Acoustically they are perfect with the exception of 1 tweeter has a small hole/crack and was price accordingly with this flaw. Doesn't affect sound quality as AudioPlusServices (the importer) will tell you. Can get a deal from importer on tweeter replacement if necessary and will professionally install it for you. Have personally sold the Focal/JmLab products for nearly 20 years and will answer any questions about this speaker.

| It is a Beryllium tweeter and according to the manual when it is damaged like that it should be covered with the tape provided and returned to the distributor. It can be health hazard since the beryllium dust can cause berylliosis.Since there is a hole it is a risk. Why dont you replace the tweeter by ordering a replacement from Audioplus services ? already waiting for new tweeter which in turn will adjust pricing for the speaker. When we got these in trade my customer didn't realize that it was damaged. When I spoke to Audioplus Services they said I could still use as long as I kept my fingers away from unit. |
| Thank you for your answer. Audioplus services is wrong. Some distributors became all commercial in time. You can ask Focal. It will effect the sound negatively and I recommend covering it by tape carefully for your safety. This tape and procedure is mentioned and provided by Focal in the manual. Agreed, I always remembered the special zip bag & dome adhesive that came with all the speakers. Thanks |
