Dali Loudspeakers Megaline Series III - Includes Transition Audio Design Tubed Crossover!

1-owner speakers, about 5 ½ years old. Selling to downsize to a smaller set of speakers and to simplify my system. These are great speakers, but as you can see, they are quite large. You'll need a friend or two to help you set these up! In excellent condition – the main cosmetic faults being that two of the tweeter surrounds have a total of four 3/8” marks, which was my fault from the surrounds dropping off when assembling them the last time (see pictures). These could likely be filled with a color-matched putty, but I haven't bothered to do so. Also included in the purchase price are a 7 ½ ft. pair of speaker cables which were custom made for the Megalines (sorry I can’t remember the manufacturer). The tweeter cables are a mix of silver (yellow wires) and copper (orange wires) from what I recall. This package also includes a Transition Audio Design tubed crossover for the DALI Megaline speakers that replaces the stock solid state crossover as supplied by Dali. It was custom made by Tom Tutay in Florida, who reverse engineered the unit with the input of Albert Porter. Additionally, this crossover has the ability to change the gain on the frequency 1200 Hz and below. Compared to the stock DALI crossover, this unit gives the Megalines a much smoother, tube-like sound, most especially in the high frequencies. So, if you are a detail freak, go with the stock unit, if you like a somewhat lusher sound, use the TAD unit - it's your choice! The TAD crossover is in excellent condition, and comes with a complete set of replacement NOS small signal tubes for the crossover itself and a Purist Audio umbilical cord that runs between the power supply and the crossover. The stock DALI crossover is in excellent condition and can be used should you prefer its’ sound to the TAD unit.
