These are the famous Cogent field coil DS-1428 drivers and custom $5k rosewood conical horns. They were made with the help of one of the cogent designers and a professional cabinet maker they use in LA. . We spent a long time picking out some incredible rosewood veneer and I had him round the outer edge and bend the veneer around it instead of a 90 degree edge with a veneer piece on it. You will never find a more beautiful horn. Custom wood stands that allow angle and tilt control included. These are the ultimate horn drivers. Power supplies included and pictured. I paid 17k+ for all this but never used them but once for a couple hours with some prototype bass boxes. Basically I bit off more than I want to admit I can chew. Plus my new girlfriend has taken over the living room and the GFAF factor is not in my favor. Shipping will involve lots of boxes. The horns are new and the Cogents were hardly used by Kevin Brooks who I got them from. He already had an ALE system.
When I heard them at RMAF years ago in a set up owned by the Teres turntable designer I thought they were spectacular. Lots of people who heard that setup thought it was the best sound they ever heard. I was going to make some bass boxes with twin 15" woofers and try and beat the JBL Everest. Now I can't even remember where I planned on crossing them over. So these can be the heart of an awesome ultimate system if you know what you are doing.
