Due to my hobby and profession, I've been exposed to the world's finest loudspeakers over the last 40 years. I have personally owned and/or listened to EVERY so-called state-of-the-art speaker that has been marketed in the U.S.: Infinity Servo Statics, Levinson’s HQD system, Sound Labs, Beveridge 2SW’s, Hill Plasmatronics, Martin Logan Statements, Vandersteen 7’s, Verity Lohengrin’s, Wilson X2’s . . . the list goes on and on. NONE of these speakers sounded like LIVE music - every one lacked either transparency or dynamics or was ‘colored’ in its reproduction of musical instruments.

It would be nice to have the thrill of LIVE music without the blood, sweat & tears that goes into attending concerts.

I had come to the conclusion that EVERY so-called state-of-the-art speaker was incapable of reproducing the excitement and emotion of LIVE music. They all compromise either transparency or dynamics or both. Then I discovered the horn speakers of . . . AVANTGARDE.

Avantgarde designs and builds speakers like no others I’ve EVER heard. In my 36 years in the high end home audio business I have never heard nor do I know of ANY production loudspeaker that reproduces LIVE MUSIC as faithfully as the speakers made by AVANTGARDE of Germany. They have the unique combination of lifelike dynamic contrast coupled with nearly total transparency. NO other speaker system comes close to the results you get with an Avantgarde Hornspeaker.

I once owned a pair of the Avantgarde Duo’s and was satisfied that the Duo’s sounded more like LIVE music than the speakers that preceeded them.

I now have (this) pair of TRIO’s and I am amazed at how much BETTER they are than the Duo’s. The Trio’s are more coherent throughout the audible bandwidth and the music sounds more real, more natural, more LIVE!

The TRIO is the TOP of the Avantgarde range of speaker systems. It has a FULL-RANGE, 3-horn array and achieves in excess of 105 db of sound pressure with only ONE WATT of power. I'm driving this system with a pair of 22 watt single ended triode amps and they play VERY loud without ANY effort.

This set of Trio Omega’s includes 2 of Avantgarde’s self-powered short basshorns that add just the lowest fundamentals of sound – they are expressly designed for use with the Trio system.

The TRIO’s are about 65 inches tall and measure about 16 inches wide by 33 inches deep.

If purchased new, this system would retail for $85,000 before tax & the cost of shipment from Germany – the total bill would approach $90,000! These Trio Omegas are 7 years old. Their performance is UTTERLY FANTASTIC and over $60,000 LESS!

Everything is in EXCELLENT operating condition - the sound is AWESOME!

Cosmetically they are in very good condition, with some very minor nicks and abrasions. From my listening position, I am not able to see these imperfections but I hear the UNCOMPROMISED performance of the TRIO OMEGA's sound!
