I am describing a 5.0 Speaker System, and this ad is for this system.  I hope to sell the system rather than pieces of it.  I also have a sub for an additional cost.  This system is for local picup only in Fairfax, VA 22030.  This system is for people who care about the quality of sound and wants something that looks good too.  Nothing Bose offers will compare.  In my opinion, you can’t get anything that looks as well and sounds as good for this price.  If you are interested in a better speaker system, you should hear this one!  This system would cost $6900 new, and I am now only asking $2200!

Aerial Acoustics Model 8 large floorstanders can fill even large rooms with sound and can produce low bass.  These are great speakers and have a particular magic for midrange (vocals).  They have a very good soundscape and imaging.  The treble is not fatiguing at all.  This speaker (and other Aerial Acoustics models) have received excellent reviews.  I have been comparing these speakers to others, and it takes at least $4000 to do what these do in my opinion.

Three-way, floorstanding loudspeaker. Drive-units: 1" titanium-dome tweeter, 7.1" paper/composite-cone midrange, 10.7" woofer. Crossover points: 250Hz and 2.5kHz. Frequency response: 28Hz-22kHz, ±2dB, -6dB at 23Hz. Impedance: 6 ohms nominal, 3.5 ohms minimum. Sensitivity: 86dB/2.83V/m on-axis. Power requirements: 50W minimum, 100W+ recommended. Dimensions: 45" H by 9" W by 20" D. Weight: 120 lbs each.

These speakers have beautiful Santos Rosewood cabinetry and look elegant.  They were $5500. One speaker is without blemish.  The other speaker has a small scratch that is not noticeable until you inspect the speaker closely, and it looks like a little stain may have rubbed off the very tip of the upper right corner (again not noticeable unless you closely inspect it).

ERA Acoustics were voiced by the same person who voiced Aerial Acoustics.  Their sound is similar, close enough for theater purposes.

The ERA design 5 LCR does a great job at producing dialog and the abundance of the theater sound track.  The Model 8’s have a strong central image, but cannot compare to the addition of a center channel for theater sound.  These speakers have been well reviewed.

Drivers: One 1" Soft Dome Tweeter, Two 5" Mid/Bass. MFR: 50 Hz - 20 kHz. Sensitivity: 88 dB/W/M, Nominal Impedance: 6 Ohms. Dimensions: 19.7" H x 7.1" W x 10.4" D (LCR). Weight: 27.5 Pounds.

These speakers are in rosewood and have a similar color to the Model 8s.  They have nice curves and will finished, particularly for their price, $700/Each. They have a small blemish on the lower right corner (not noticeable) and may have scratches on the bottom (completely unnoticeable as the speakers sit on their bottom).  It does have a rubber mat for this purpose.

The ERA design 4 Sat are used as satellites in this system.  These are fine mini-monitors on their own and have been well reviewed.  Peachtree now markets them.

Two-way, reflex-loaded, stand-mounted loudspeaker. Drive-units: 1" (25mm) silk-dome tweeter, 4" (102mm) Kevlar/fiber-composite–cone woofer. Crossover frequency: 2kHz. Frequency response: 58Hz-20kHz. Measured sensitivity: 83.5dB/2.83V/m. Nominal impedance: 8 ohms. Nominal music power handling: 50–150W. Dimensions: 9.6" (244mm) H by 6.8" (173mm) W by 5.8" (148mm) D. Weight: 10.6 lbs (4.8kg).

They are in rosewood and have a similar color to the Model 8s.  These speakers also have nice curves and are well finished, particularly for their price, $700/pair. I did not see any blemishes on these.

I am only asking $2200 for this system. I am also willing to sell my Funk Audio 18.1 sub for $1700 more.  I rated the entire system as a 7 condition.  Personally, I feel it is an 8, but you can see for yourself when you audition it. I will not ship - PICK UP ONLY (Fairfax VA 22030). I strongly encourage you to listen to this speaker system if it is within your budget. Specifications, critic’s reviews, dealer opinions, and technology are not what matters; instead it is what YOU HEAR that matters. Check them out! Make me an offer!

If the system doesn’t sell soon, I will try to sell this equipment separately rather than as a system.  In that case, I will be willing to ship the Era stuff, but not the Aerials.  To ship these heavy beasts correctly, I would need the $300 or so crates from Kelly to protect them, and shipping would be very costly.  So, please don't ask me about shipping them.
