Legacy Audio Equalizer Box

This is an equalizer originally created for the Open Baffle design of Legacy Audio Whisper. It increases bass from 20-300hz. This model is unique, it is switchable from 110v to 220v and has been significantly upgraded by Steve Sank at Talking Dog Transducer Co. Here are Steve's mods.

Power supply- Installed IXYS soft-recovery, high speed rectifier diodes.

Replaced pre- and post-regulator electrolytic filter capacitors with FAR larger value Nichicon, 40,000uf pre-reg, >20,000uf post-reg.

Added metallised & film/foil polypropylene bypass caps to all supply electrolytic caps.

Installed 120VAC/240VAC mains power selection switching.

Active signal stages:

Replaced ALL opamp chips with Burr-Brown 134-series, OPA134PA, OPA2134PA and OPA4134UA.

Replaced all electrolytic signal/eq caps w/Nichicon.

ADDED 940uf Nichicon supply filter/energy-storage caps, each with mkt film bypass cap, immediately attached to each opamp chip's supply pins.

Replaced inadequate stock film eq caps w/appropriately high quality mpp & mkt caps.

Replaced main signal coupling caps with massive MIT/Multicap PPFXS tin foil & film polypropylenes.

Replaced primary-use in/out RCA jacks w/pure silver WBT, wired to board w/combined Nordost, LAT & flat gold/copper wire, and bypass out jacks w/CMC gold-over-pure-copper jacks wired w/pure silver.

The addition of the WBT jacks alone was a $300.00 upgrade, not to mention the rest of the parts.f I marked the condition as 8/10 due to a gouge on the top metal of the case. This box will significantly improve the bass response, without adding distortion to any system. Email with any questions.
