Upgraded Dac 2 to dsdse with femto clock. Awesome dac2. Firmware recently upgraded. Excellent Dac. Dac is in good condition. Listed as an 8 simply because this dac was purchased in 2012. Otherwise, recently upgraded with new clock, replaced caps and new firmware.
Upgraded to Berkeley audio alpha 2. Comes with remote. Black.

| Was the upgrade done by the factory? Also what is your reason for selling? Yes it was done by W4S factory. I had bought a shunyata PS8 power conditioner and damaged the "caps" - i sent to them to replace and while there had them upgrade firmware and femto clock. My dealer - loaned me a Berkeley Audio Alpha 2 DAC and it was awesome. I really enjoyed the wryed 4 sound dac all these years. But i think the Berkeley DAC edges it out by an inch at twice the cost. My wilson sasha's sound great with either dac. |
| So what happened? Were the caps replaced was there other damage? yes caps were replaced. No other damage. Question for you - what are caps?
James, if the buyer of this unit doesn't like the product then they can certainly return it. i am trying to figure out a way to have a second dac in my system. |
