Fantastic new DAC from Rein Audio! Rein’s components are designed and engineered by acclaimed German audio designer Tomasz Wilczak. Their superb line-up features incredible sonic attributes and build quality, easy to use interfaces, and a fantastic features set.
The X-DAC has dual coaxial inputs which support 24 bit / 192 KHz processing of today’s top quality HD digital files. Additional USB 2.0 and optical inputs also included.
The digital to analog converter chip employed is the superb Wolfson WM8740 running in tandem with a Cirrus Logic CS8416 receiver chip.
Substantial on board power supply with IEC input for an essential DAC upgrade path to a quality aftermarket power cable.
Tonally rich and full sound very hard to find in this price range with digital, as well as amazingly good resolution of upper frequency detail and nuance, plus tight, deep and accurate bass presentation.
This component is an absolute winner in the sub $1K audiophile DAC category, and competes favorably with many DAC’s into the $1,500 range.
