museatex Bitstream with John Wright Data Mods

Up for sale is a Museatex Bitstream DAC in excellent condition.  As you can see from the photos this unit has the real rosewood side panels.  These units have developed something of a second life as John Wright (former Head Technician @ Museatex) developed a series of modifications with brought an otherwise dated D/A converter up to be something of a giant killer.  This particular unit is a fairly early production model (serial 419), and John told me many years ago that he preferred these to the later units (something about being hand made).  This DAC has the factory "C Lock" upgrade, and then later had John’s original "Data" modifications completed.  John has more recently developed a new set of modifications called the "Data 2", so note that this is not the latest iteration.  Also in the interest of full disclosure, there was an optional Black Gate capacitor upgrade that John once offered (Black Gate caps are no longer available), and this unit does not have that.  I have owned a stock Bistream DAC and I can tell you that this unit completely outperforms it.
