Empirical Audio Off Ramp 5 USB Converter

Empirical Audio Off Ramp 5 with Dual Turboclocks and HDMI Hynes regulator.

After much deliberation and A/B testing, I’ve decided to sell my Empirical Audio Off Ramp 5 USB converter.

This Off Ramp 5 made a wonderful, irreplaceable difference in sound quality when I used it in front of a PS Audio Perfectwave DAC II. I ran USB out from a Mac Mini to the OR5, then I2S to the PWDII.  

This OR5 was purchased on 2/15/13, and is in fantastic cosmetic and operational condition. There are faint, almost imperceptible markings on the top surface from various weights I’ve placed, but there are no other flaws or issues to be found.

In addition to the base Off Ramp 5 ($1,299), this unit includes the Dual Turboclocks ($700) and HDMI Hynes regulator ($350.)

It’s my understanding that this OR5 would be upgradeable by Steve Nugent at Empirical. You could add an S/PDIF Hynes regulator; get the Dynamo power supply instead of the included power adapter; or perhaps upgrade to an OR6 when it is available. (You’d want to check with Steve on those options.)

Included: Off Ramp 5 / +12VDC AC adapter / Manual.  Whether PC or Mac, you'll need a driver. Current drivers are available at the Empirical web site.
