Several have asked what improvement sonically are there with the mods?
The stock Vega is very good DAC one of the best especially considering the price. But there is a bit of a veiled midrange due to power supply noise and the bass is not extended due to under capacitance.
The mod cleans up the power supply noise and with higher capacitance and lower ESR caps the bass is tighter and more extended. The low ESR power supply caps improved detail and reduced the noise floor. The damping reduces vibrations also lowering the noise floor.
