LSC 2222-45 LSC 2222-C - Reiner/CSO Debussy IBERIA - Classic Records Reissue - 200g Classic Records Vinyl - RARE - Recorded on 1 side only.

One of the first 20 RCA Living Stereo Classical "Gems" reissued by Classic Records in 1994. The original 3-track analog master tapes were used for the first time ever to cut this title avoiding the increase in noise from the transfer to two track used by RCA to cut the original in 1960. Going back to the 3-track (session) masters is the closest one can get to being at the actual performance in 1956! The result of using this tape to cut the Classic release is an increase in detail and dynamics that were impossible to get onto a vinyl disc in the 50's and 60's. You can hear the musician's breathing and turning pages in quiet passages. This lively and stunning Fritz Reiner / Chicago Symphony Orchestra performance at Chicago's legendary Symphony Hall was recorded by Lewis Layton and produced by Richard Mohr - RCA's legendary recording team. Pressed on Classic's 200 gram super vinyl QUIEX SV-P which adds another dimension to playback fidelity revealing small nuances that seem to jump out of the groove. Absolutely not to be missed.

Alborado del Grassio 45 - This is the one of the most demanding recordings we have ever reissued. On the 33 1/3 rpm disc it is on the inside band of side two and the dynamics are compromised as a result. At 45 rpm on a single sided 200g QUIEX SV-P pressing this piece of music is thrilling in its dynamic contrasts.
