"Brahms composed this music during the summer of 1878, and led the first performance, with its dedicatee Joseph Joachim as soloist, in Leipzig on January 1, 1879.

Jascha Heifetz was the leading figure among the extraordinary group of Russian Jews who dominated violin playing in the second and third quarters of the twentieth century. As a technician he had no superior, and, of all the artists of his time and later, only two or three could even offer a challenge to his electrifying precision of execution. His diamond-point tone and quick vibrato afforded his playing a clarity of line that some felt was almost too perfect, even cold. Most conductors and other violinists ó and audiences ó felt differently and a Heifetz concert inevitably drew sell-out crowds." - AMG.

RCA Red Seal .5 Series Audiophile pressing.
1/2 Speed Mastered from the original multi-track Master.
Improved frequency response, lower distortion and higher levels

The '.5' Series present the classic RCA Living Stereo Series in an up-to-date Audiophile sound.

The record is Mint.
The jacket is NM.
The LP plays/sounds Mint.

Heifetz at his finest. Warm, detailed, 'romantic' sound. Unlike most of the RCA .5 Series, this pressing sounds more like the original - more of a classical tube sound as opposed to the more modern 'Audiophile' sound of the series. A magnificent performance and recording.
Surface noise consists of 4 or 5 'ticks' for the first 5 seconds on lead-in Side I.

Each record is washed on a VPI cleaning machine using a proprietary 3-5 agent process which is determined by the needs of the individual record. Each record is then listened to 100% to insure that the posted description is exactly what you can expect to get.
