Unison Research CDE with Optional Wolfson DAC

For sale is a Unison Research CDE in upgrade black finish ($300 over the standard silver) and with the optional Wolfson DAC board. Bought new earlier this year and still have 1 year warranty left. All tubes are original and unit is in perfect condition with all accessories. Digital inputs and outputs. True balanced XLR and RCA analog outputs. Output level is adjustable as low or high (9dB difference) to fit your system gain. The unit is the current flagship CDP in the Unison lineup, and rated as a 5-star digital source by British What HiFi.

The sound is fluid without losing excitement, please read online reviews. The CDE is very sensitive to tube rolling, while the stock EH 12AX7/ECC83 tubes work great, NOS Telefunken tubes gets this unit to the ultra-High End category. I've also borrowed French Mazda tubes with equally satisfying results but a different taste. For me, a tube-sensitive CDE has a much higher fun factor than a solid state CDP, who forces you to accept the voicing, and ultimately lacks the liquid, 3D feeling only tubes can provide.
