Purchased 2/16/12. Although this is listed as a Blu Ray player it has fantastic sound for CD and digital music player. Using a digital music server it plays Flac and many other audio formats at all resolutions. Yes there IS a difference after the upgrade and was worth much much more than the original 95. I have heard and compared the difference. and it was not subtle. Crystal clear analog output. Clearer than the Akurate DS. It includes Upgrade company certifications and transferable 5 yr warranty. Insurance available at buyers expense.

If I understand correctly, whatever the mods are, they increased the cost of the unit to $2299.00 ? correct ?

You are correct about the price. As I understand it the mods are replacement of capacitors (Black Gate), wiring and other components with much higher quality expensive parts. Also a major part of the upgrade is devoted to extensive shielding and some power supply mods. The difference is NOT subtle. The 2 channel clarity is stunning. I know it is not supposed to make much difference with HDMI but the change is very noticeable there too. Thanks |
