Highly modified NEC 730 Renaissance CD Player/ Transport, $25. Any good tweakers out there inclined to repair the unknown digital-out issue will be delighted with the sound of this older disc-spinning marvel. Though, it sounds great with it's own DACs, but shines even more amazingly as a stand-alone transport. High quality external power supply for the analog section, and separate pwr supply for digital side. Shielding in all the right places. Sports an Art Audio power cable for the analog section which was valued at $600. then, retail. Re-worked voltage regulation all over, and it has the best inboard DACs of it's time for stock players under $2,000. All mods done in 1991 by Joe Cohen.. Stock player was distributed through the U.S. from Japan in 1988-89. It's not worth your, or my time + cost for shipping outside my area, so, local pickup only...weighs around 30 lbs.
