Material:
One of our key parameters has been that every single material used in the production of the Andromada cable series, could not in any way influence the overall sound quality of the cables. As no standard available wire or cable could offer this, we have chosen to manufacture the conductor used in the Andromeda cables entirely from scratch. This also allows us to not only control the materials used, but equally important the whole geometry of the final cable.

Choice of Copper:
As with all choices made in Vitus Audio, we go through a long process of choosing parts used in our products. The choice of the raw copper conductor was no exception. Initially we started with a handful of suppliers of raw copper - supplying us with the exact same diameter/pureness of copper to be tested. We carefully manufactured some initial prototypes with copper from these different suppliers, and made A-B comparisons to find the best fitted (most neutral) sounding copper. These A-B comparisons where not only done in house, as we also used our external crew of "golden ears" each giving their valuable feedback. Based on our findings we qualified only one of these suppliers.

Isolation:
Through out more than 20 years of experience in cable making, Mr. Grove's research has proven that the isolation material can have a huge negative influence on the overall performance of the cables, if used in an improper way. With the Andromeda cable Mr. Grove has developed a new dielectric structure called D.S.E. (Dielectric, Skin, Eliminator) never used before in any other audio cables. The Andromeda cable is constructed with a total of 4 isolation zones.

Two inner zones with extremely high isolation factor. The material itself is very light and totally antistatic which basically is used only for creating the optimal atmosphere around each conductor - such that no colouration of the sound is introduced.

The 3rd zone's function, is to isolate the conductors from all negative electrons found in high humidity areas ect.

The 4th zone is providing a minimum surface contact between the different poles in the final wire.

The Construction:
Each wire consists of 20 individually isolated conductors spun in a unique way. This gives two major benefits:

The individual isolation of each conductor, prevents electron "jumps" between the conductors - also known as "skin effect" - This is typically heard as high frequency "distortion".

The unique spinning of the conductors, basically prevents the individually conductors to wary in length. When each conductor has the exact same length, the electrons "flow" is becoming identical, preventing so called "shadowing or mirroring" effects in the signals. The usage of 20 individual thin conductors was chosen simply to force the electrons to flow as directly from the source to the receiving end as possible. At the same time the conductors are different in gauge, to create a perfect balance through out the entire frequency spectrum. Overall this results in a higher level of dynamics, precision, tonal balance and creates a bigger soundstage.

Finally the resulting wire is braided is a special manner, resulting a much larger spacing between each pole. Isolating each pole has major benefits on the overall sound quality, simply due to the "lack" of magnetic disturbances from pole to pole. With the spacing in the Andromeda cable - each poles magnetic field is too far from each other to generate "magnetic noise", currently no other commercial available cable offers this solution. The result is a much more natural soundstage presentation.

All of these parameters have been optimised for high production volume and lowest possible price. In short - expensive and fancy materials and production methods with no direct positive influence on the resulting sound quality, has been eliminated to keep pricing at it's lowest ever, for cables in the league of Andromeda Series.
